PG

Department of Computer Science and Engineering has started this PG Program in the year 2008. The program is approved by AICTE and is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Karnataka. The M.Tech (CSE) programme is of four semesters (two year) duration. During this tenure, they acquire the in depth knowledge in various fields of Computer Science &Engineering though the rigorous, brain storming teaching- learning process. In addition, the students will be encouraged and motivated to learn the art of effective dissemination of knowledge through seminars and technical paper publications. They are even trained to carryout good project work, so that in future, they are enabled to shoulder the responsibility of performing, managing any project efficiently. The special feature of the programme is to develop aspirant students as self-pride, confident, efficient professionals/ entrepreneurs.
Students will have 6 months internship programme during 3rd semester and our placement center provides facilities for internship recruitments from major software companies. Most of the students have bagged internship offers from HCL, Infosys, Wipro VMWare, Alcatel Lucent Technologies etc., and have got placed in the same companies after training. PG students will be provided placements during 4th semester and many companies like JP Morgan, Infosys, Robert Bosch etc., have visited for PG.
Facilities: An independent laboratory is provided for PG with well-equipped high end systems funded by VGST. Internet facility with IEEE access has been provided to each system. Two classrooms exist with projector facility.

PG Department is coordinated by Dr. Asha. T. M.E, Ph.D, LMISTE

Dr. Asha.T completed her B.E. and M.E. in Computer Science & Engineering from Bangalore University. She did her Ph.D in Computer and Information sciences from Visvesvaraya Technological University in the year 2012. She has around 20 years of teaching experience and over 21 publications to her credit in various International journals and conferences. Currently her research interest includes Data Mining, Big data, Pattern Recognition, Image Processing, Cloud computing etc.

CURRICULUM:

The curriculum is aimed to give theoretical and hands on in the areas of Advances in Operating Systems, Advanced Algorithms, Advances in DBMS, Cloud Computing, Managing Big Data etc. and a host of elective subjects like Advances in Storage Area Networks, Advances in Digital Image Processing, Web Services, Topics in Artificial Intelligence, Information and Network Security etc. in the first two semesters. Students have opportunity to work in advanced areas like Machine Learning Techniques during fourth semester and the entire third semester duration is allocated for Industrial Training (Internship) in companies.
